“I´m proud of being part of Ave”

Isidro Pereira is in front of The One, a company that distributes our wines in South Argentina. A member that adds to our staff and that with a different and renewed vision tells us his experiences with Ave. Having been recently arrived from the Argentine South, we spoke about the repercussion of our wines in this tour. “We organized our trip with the goal of the presentation and promotion of Ave wines, so later on we could analyze the results and acceptance on people, to which it exceeded our expectations” Isidro starts positively.

The tour included: the Capital city of Neuquèn, San Martìn de los Andes, Bariloche, Puerto Madryn, Pnìnsula de Valdez, Las Grutas, Santa Rosa, La Pampa, and then Mendoza was a unique experience for The One.”Actually, our trip was going to end in Tierra del Fuego. We couldn´t make it since it was really surprising Ave wines acceptance in the first provinces. Nevertheless, we`re organizing another trip to get there” Pereira ends.

What is really the Ave image for Isidro Pereira and The One, that makes us so appealing? “The passion, dedication and trust I see reflected in Ave wines reflects the fruit of friendship and collaboration among its founders: Mario Pardini, Iacopo Di Bugno, their prestigious winemaker Alberto Antonini and their great team work”
In his opinion, Ave wines are very attractive, delicate, firm, deep, invigorating and corpulent. “In simpler words, it´s a magnificent wine for those special moments of every person.”

This distributor assures that Ave fits perfectly, together with the beautiful landscapes that we found in South Argentina and its so peculiar gastronomy. “I think Ave project is a young project with excellent quality products and people. I`m proud of being part of the short term future growth of Ave.”

Volando América del Norte

Recently, Mario Pardini, one of the owners of Ave Wines, made a great business tour in the United States. ”I went to visit the distributers of 4 states, companies that are very important for Ave”, Pardini tells us.

The trip began on January the 23rd in the northern garden state. Two days in Florida, were the beggining to what was about to come. “Ave is pretty well located, and of top of that, it´s located in one the most exclusive places as it is Miami.”

Later, it was the turn of The Big Apple. “I went to New York for a few days to deal directly with our importer, who is also the distributor of that city. There were days of many visits and in many places”.

We tell to our Ave fans that on a blind wine-tasting made in one the most exclusive restaurants of New York and competing with two of the 100 top wines of Wine Spectator, Ave Gran Reserva was the winner.

Continuiing with the trip, on the second week of the tour, Mario Pardini traveled to Boston and Ohio, two very important markets to our winery. “The best of all it´s that our distributors are happy with our quality, and we are happy with the sales” Mario finishes.

To end our interview, we ask Mario Pardini which was his favourite city. “It´s hard to say which city I liked the most, but New York will always by New York…” he ends.

Sandra Castillo in CasaAve

The sommelier, graduated from the Argentine School of Sommeliers, and member of the board of Directors of the AAS (Argentine Association of Sommelier) came to Mendoza accompanied by someone, and of course she came by to Casa Ave. In a very characteristic meeting, a picnic organized by Iacopo Di Bugno, one of Ave Wines engines; we could talk to her about the impressions that cause our winery.

What did you think about Ave wines?
I think Ave wines are very special, different, with a light and delicate character, regarding the terroir ad origin.

What do you think about the Project and its founders?
I think is a Project made with passion and founded on very good grounds, and with a lot of projection, together with professional people and with a lot of ideas.

Did you like Casa Ave?
The house was wonderful. Also, I think it´s very important the recovery of the original materials, which are very well combined with trendy touches, I think they contribute with a special touch. The park, the view, the sunset…unforgettable. The visit was a tremendous experience matched by the best host.

Of all Ave wines, which one would you stand out, and why?
I really, really like Memento 2007, I think it´s a very special and complex wine, starting from the fact that is born in a unique vineyard, has the power of an important wine, behaves well with guard, and develops with elegance and complexity.

Rodrigo Calderón in Casa Ave

The sommelier of the glamorous UNIK and of La Burgogne in Punta del Este came to Mendoza, and of course came by to Casa Ave. Iacopo Di Bugno, one of the main engines of this enterprise, organized a very special picnic. Don`t miss the impressions of this great sommelier.

“Ave wines stand out from the rest from several points of view”, Rodrigo started to talk, while he perfectly elaborated his answer. “Price-quality relationship is present in all their lines, as well as balanced elegance with fruit and character. Something very important is how easy these wines can be drunk and combined with different dishes… Ave Premium Malbec is one of the most versatile malbecs of Mendoza, even playing with the temperature; they can be adapted to fishes or meats” Calderòn ends.

Beyond wines, Ave is framed in a predetermined purpose. According to the sommelier, that now is in Punta del Este: “The project is noble, I think that the presence of Iacopo Di Bugno as a young, social and friendly figure is amazing, as well as the figure of Alberto Antonini. The enclave of the winery and the vineyard is another factor that stands out…I dear to say that the wines will have a high growth in the internal and external market in the upcoming years.

The picnic, organized by Iacopo, was made in Casa Ave´s gardens. “The house has a very high value regarding the antiquity of it…I like very much the way in which it was recycled: the floors, the galleries, the entry of light in the ceiling, the contrast to some vibrating colors in the walls. The cellar, which is very pretty and small, gives an air of family winery. Everything is taken care of, and in respect to the nature and the terroir of Perdriel” Rodrigo Calderòn tells us.

We can`t forget one of the most important stars of Ave Wines. “I highlight Memento (winery icon wine) due to the Natural Blend concept. Its elegance, rarity, vineyard and above all, its unique expression are the attributes that I highlight” Calderòn ends, after a long talk.

AVE Londinium!

The moment that everyone was waiting for finally arrived: Mario Pardini came back to London, the city where he lived at least 3 years before arriving to Mendoza to realize his wine – growing dream. The occasion was really special: Presenting Ave to the English crow! A top class meeting organized by Christian Rotthardt, alma mater and owner of Route 40 and also the importer of our wines in England. The meeting was realized at the Adam Street Private Member Club, an exclusive space at the heart of the city, where 40 select guests among passionate people, restaurant and wine bar owners and chefs attended.

The meetings started with a quick explanation about Argentina and its terroir, they particularly discussed the topic of Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, prestigious place where the AVE Wines vineyards are located. After Mario continued talking about the Project, going for his special Italian style. Characteristics that all recognized and appreciated in the four wines wine – tasting: Ave Torrontés, Ave Malbec Rosé, Ave Malbec, Ave Grand Reserve.

A unique night…and that on demand of the audience it will be repeated on September:

Until next time!

A student tells his experience at AVE

Here we present the statement of Cristianmo Yamamoto, one of the students of CAVE.

It was the last winery that we visited in the trip, I really liked it.
We were received by Iacopo and together with the winemaker they showed us the vineyard, where the plot to which the icon wine of the winery is made was pointed out: Memento. It´s a small plot with antique vines and mixed varieties. Somehow, with time, these plants were adapting and nowadays, they ripen more or less together.
After that, they showed us the antique house that is located in the property, very nice, with a classic – Mendocinian style.

Finally, we tasted the wines with explanations of Iacopo and the winemaker.

I already knew the wines, and actually I think they all had a good quality, I personally would point out Memento wine that it´s really different!

To sum up, I enjoyed the visit, and as usual, we could learn new things.
